Restoring Stats After a Gamertag Change
Help a linked player carry their saved stats and online hours to their new gamertag.

Use this guide when the same player changed their gamertag and their saved stats still appear under the old name.
This is a name-transfer tool, not a backup restore. It cannot recreate stats that were wiped or never recorded.
Check before restoring
- Confirm the Discord member owns both the old and new gamertags.
- Verify their current link with
/player info user:@Player. - Make sure they are linked to the new gamertag first.
- Check Player Stats and their recorded hours. Relinking already attempts to carry saved history forward when Helios has a suitable previous-link record.
Do not unlink or relink a correct account just to run the restore command. If the history already moved, another restore is not needed.
Staff need Manage Server permission, or a moderator role allowed to use /player. The Discord restore command is available without Premium.
Restore using saved link history
/player restore-stats user:@Player
Helios looks for the member's latest previous gamertag in its unlink history.
Submitting this command moves records immediately. There is no extra Yes/No confirmation. Verify the account first and use a staff channel; the reply is visible in that channel.
If the old name is missing
Only after verifying the old identity, include it explicitly:
/player restore-stats user:@Player previous-gamertag:"OldPlayerName"
The old and current names must differ. Helios refuses to move stats if the old gamertag is currently linked to another Discord member. Do not remove someone else's link to bypass that check.
What moves?
The restore moves saved stats and available online-hour history from the old name to the current name within this Discord community, across its connected Rust servers. There is no server option.
When both names already have saved stats on a Rust server, totals are combined rather than replacing the current player's totals. Streak values keep the higher recorded value. This is a move, not a second copy of the old player's history.
It does not restore Rust inventory, bases, bag rewards, wallet funds, or a wiped Battle Pass. Missing activity can only be recovered if saved records still exist.
Check the response

| Restore exceeded the safety timeout | Helios reports that the operation was rolled back. Contact support before retrying. |
A leaderboard message can take time to refresh. Compare the player's stats directly before assuming a restore failed.
