Skip Night

Skip Night lets players on a Premium game server vote to move the clock to daytime. They vote with Wait Here in Rust's Quick Chat. Staff choose how many votes are needed and what counts as night.

Set it up

1. Open the dashboard, choose the game server, and open Server Settings.
2. Find Skip Night and open Configure Skip Night.
3. Turn it on, then choose Number of votes or Percent of online players.
4. Set Votes needed, Day time, and Night time.
5. Decide whether Helios should repeat your in-game reminder at night. Edit the message if you want, then save.

The default vote is 5 players. Day time defaults to 9.5 (9:30 a.m.); Night time defaults to 18 (6 p.m.). The times use a 24-hour clock, and decimals are part of an hour—9.5 means 9:30, not 9:50.

Example: Choose Percent of online players and enter 50 to require half of the current online players, rounded up. At least one vote is always required.

What players see

At night, Helios can show the reminder about every 60 seconds. A player starts a vote by choosing Wait Here in Quick Chat. The vote stays open for two minutes, and Helios shows the current vote count. Once enough different players vote, Helios moves the clock to your chosen Day time and announces that the vote passed.

Turning the automatic reminder off does not turn off voting. Players can still start a vote with Wait Here. If it is already daytime, Helios tells them it is not night. If the game server's time cannot be checked, Helios asks them to try again soon.

If voting does not work

Check that this game server has Premium, Skip Night is enabled and saved, and players are using Wait Here rather than a custom bind on the same Quick Chat choice. Confirm the game server is connected so Helios can read and set its clock. If the vote count changes but time does not, check the server connection before changing your vote settings.
